Blue Lagoon
This is a new design concept that I have been working on for many years. Matt brought me a big Cherry burl from his land in central Wisconsin. I have been letting it dry and processing it in stages for over 5 years. It had lots of voids and inclusions so it didn’t look like I’d be able to get any good clean pieces from it. Then it hit me to fill the voids with dyed epoxy. The key was to maintain the natural live edges. The blue epoxy looked like water against natural land formations. I love the look. This is a very finiky and time consuming process. All of the rosettes will be completely different and unique. This is our first one.
