Petros Custom Ukuleles

Since 1972, Bruce Petros has been a maker of unique, custom, handmade instruments for discerning players and collectors.

By meticulously constructing each instrument from the finest master-grade woods and using innovative techniques, their instruments are some of the most sought after in the world.

Matthew has been building along side his father since the year 2000. Building on a 40 year legacy of guitar making, they began building Ukuleles in 2012 and have fallen in love with the instrument, the people and the process.

We are making Concerts, Tenors and Baritones. Take a look at our “Featured Designs.”

Becoming Geppetto

In 2017, at the Woodstock Invitational Luthier’s Showcase, documentary filmmaker Dale Lindquist approached Bruce and Matt Petros with a vision: a film that would capture not only the art of instrument making, but the lives of the makers and the musicians who play their instruments.

Dale and Marion spent nine days in the Petros shop, then traveled across the U.S. and Canada to film Petros owners with their cherished instruments. The project took years to complete, shaped with the same dedication and artistry it portrays.

More than a “how-to” on instrument building, this documentary is an intimate look at Bruce and Matt Petros, their passions, and the musicians who bring their instruments to life.
